I'm in shock about it being March already! It's always a busy month for us with three family birthdays, a long weekend for St Patrick's Day and this year, Easter falls in March. But before all that fun, don't forget that it's Mother's Day on Sunday! My mum always insists we don't make a big deal about Mother's Day and says every year 'Now don't be buying me anything'. But we still do. I know I'm lucky to have my mum about so there's nothing wrong with celebrating it and giving her a treat or two after all she has done for us.
So just as I was wondering what to get her, look what arrived in the post from the guys over at Debenhams. A gorgeous Bailey & Quinn leather handbag.
This model is the Bailey & Quinn Cream Embroidered & Appliqued Pocketed Grab Bag, currently available on the Debenhams website with 20% off.
I'd not heard of Bailey & Quinn before but could see the similarities to Radley and the quality is very much up there with Radley London. The stitching is immaculate and the detail beautiful.
As well as grab handles, the bag has a removable shoulder strap that can be extended to make the bag work as a cross body. This is good for my mum who likes to keep her hands free when she's out and about.
Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of workmanship on the bag and it has useful details like a key clip so you don't lose your keys in the bottom of your bag, mobile phone pockets and two zipped sections either side of the main pocket - great for paperwork and receipts.
I'm off to the post office now to post this down to Mum in time for Sunday. I'm seeing her in April to celebrate her 80th Birthday so I'm not going to make it down for Mother's Day this year - the downside to living so far from parents :(
Oh, and she has no time for computers so is unlikely to see this...just in case you were wondering about that!
Oh even I love this Avs! Looks a good size for uni!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand either, but it's incredibly similar to Radley. (Are the companies linked in some way?) I'm sure your Mum will love it.

Very fresh and pretty! And I trust your Mum is better suited to keeping a white bag looking good than I would be :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely bag! I am sure your Mum will love it x

Great daughter, she will definitely enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift. My mum was 80 in January, we are very lucky aren't we?
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing to do. We celebrate mother's day later in the year back home so I never remember to send my mom a gift. Shocking, I know.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure when Mother's Day is here but that is a lovely gift, great daughter you!
ReplyDeleteThat bag is beautiful!! I'm sending my mum an extra special combined mothers day and birthday gift this year (same week). I am packing up my eldest son (11 yrs) and putting him on an airplane for the weekend! It will be his first time flying solo so very exciting. She misses him so much and is very excited, I am sure they will have a blast (and I get to put a shopping order in:))
ReplyDeleteI wish Mother's Day was the same here and there - Mum either gets nothing or has 2 Mother's day depending on if I remember! Your Mum will love it!:)
ReplyDeleteHi there!! How very thoughtful of you, it's such a lovely bag and she will be over the moon with it, I know I would be!! xxx
ReplyDeleteShe is gonna LOVE it!!!!! You are so on top of things!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she will be very happy indeed Avril.
ReplyDeleteHi Avril, that's funny as I was in Debenhams in the Bullring in Birmingham last week (having a pre-theatre girlie shop with a friend) and we spotted the Bailey + Quinn range. We also noted the similarities to Radley and, in fact, I did think that maybe Radley had sold out to them but obviously not as the Radley shop is still very much there in Birmingham too.
ReplyDeleteSadly, like lots of other people, my Mum is no longer here but I'll be buying her some flowers to place against her photo on Sunday - just my way of remembering and thanking her. Wish very much she was still here to share in the love + joy that my first grandchild has bought us all!
love Ellen x
