Topshop Blogger of the Month 😄 | Style

Last month, I was told by Topshop that they'd chosen me as their affiliate blogger of the month. Ha - can you believe it? I think the green sandals swung it :) but yay to them for picking an old bird for this accolade.
Anyway, my reward was a £50 voucher to spend on my favourite item and I played safe and chose my old faithful Joni skinny jeans but this time in the khaki colour way.
I've had khaki jeans before from a couple of different places but I never quite got on with them. I think when they're not black or denim blue, jeans can be quite unforgiving and you need to pay a bit more for a good quality fabric and the right colour.
I have Joni's in black already - coated and non-coated. They are just so comfortable - akin to a legging really - as they're high waisted, super stretchy and don't have front pockets so there's no extra bulk or detail on the place where I want as little detail as possible, my tummy area.
And here I am wearing them how I love wearing khaki jeans - with a white top and tan accessories:
Top - Exhibit Ballymena
Sandals - M&S
Been meaning to give this bag a shout out on here for a while. My husband bought it for me for my birthday - or I should say, I bought it on his behalf. It's by Gianni Conti and I saw it first in McKillens when I was up in Ballymena in May on the blogger day they held. I took a few photos and couldn't stop thinking about it. Loved the shape and the size and the leather is exquisite. I was looking at preloved Mulberry tan bags as a possible birthday gift but I just kept thinking that the Gianni Conti one was actually a nicer bag. It's got a wrist strap as well as a cross body one so it's way more practical too.
I can't see this particular style anymore online, which is a real shame but do take a look at their latest range as there are some amazing designer dupes in stunning real leather for a fraction of the price. Well priced given the leather is dyed using traditional Italian methods and each bag is hand made. To give you some idea of cost, my bag had an RRP of £189. I got it on a 20% off day so it worked out at £150. I've seen them locally in McKillens (obviously!) and also in Moores in Coleraine.
The bonus with this bag is that I got to support a local business too - something I'm becoming even more aware of recently. Buying less but buying well and where possible, choosing smaller businesses. But more to come on that front...
I also picked up a pair of black loafers partly paid with what was left of the Topshop voucher - these were reduced in the sale to £25 - leather uppers and leather lined, they're great and I love that they have silver hardware.
Kreme Ring Loafers - Topshop £25 (only small sizes remain)
I'm a bit weird when it comes to hardware matching so I often don't wear my Dune loafers as they have gold hardware and don't co-ordinate with my biker jacket or silver hardware handbags. I know - told you it was weird!
And here I am wearing them yesterday with an old Warehouse top I rediscovered as part of a massive wardrobe clear out. Jeans are Stradivarius on this link.
And yes, you read that right. I'm detoxing the wardrobe again. But I've decided to take the bull by the horns this time and CLEAR out ruthlessly. Watch this space for another preloved sale later this week. It's all part of a more minimalist approach to this blog - lots of changes coming up over the coming months as I take control of my wardrobe and my social media - and simplify it all. I'm hoping you'll want to join me on the journey. I know I'm not the only person exhausted by it all.

All for Lucy's Wedding | Style

I have so many gorgeous photos from Lucy's wedding on Saturday so I thought I'd do a little blog post to share them on here..mainly so I can easily look back on them again. I want to remember the day forever - it was so magical.

Lucy and her twin sister Zoe first came into my life about 2 years ago when we found each other on Instagram (click on their names to see their accounts). My first memories of them both is how encouraging they were - always a positive uplifting comment on every photo - so refreshing to find this online.

We kept in touch and then finally met last summer when I was in Portstewart on our annual jaunt up the North Coast. It was a coffee catch up but I think we ended up gabbing for about 4 or 5 hours! I'd brought my girls but had to get my husband to come pick them up as they were getting bored with our non stop talking.

Since then, we've met at events and always keep in touch via DM on instagram and when Lucy invited the twins and I to her wedding, I was just so blown away and honoured to be able to be there on her special day.

So here goes - some gorgeous images from a gorgeous day. I hope you enjoy them too.

Apart from the beautiful bride, the flowers were the next most breathtaking thing about the day. They were wild, natural and colourful. Exactly what I'd chose myself. I loved how there were berries and thistles included in them. They were created by Lynda at Leaf Designs
this was carried into the bridesmaids' hairs too...
The newly married couple in their gorgeous VW Beetle...

The Bride and her beautiful Bridesmaids - bridesmaid dresses are from ASOS
Lucy and her sister Zoe
The venue - Drenagh House, Limavady
The stunning cake
In lieu of donations, Lucy & Michael made a donation to a charity close to their hearts - FOP Friends. Both Lucy and Zoe live with this rare condition and rely so much on the support of fellow sufferers.
and here are some of the lovely blogging girls who were also at the wedding - I didn't get everyone in the picture though - we were a hard group to pin down to one place! Such a gorgeous group of girls - made the day an absolute pleasure.

And finishing with my dress - I'm sure you've seen it by now on social media - it was the one I chose from my Phase Eight try on post on this link, I chose the green wrap dress in the end and accessorised it with nude heels, bag and fascinator.
Shoes - Faith (years old!)
Fascinator - DejaVu
Jewellery - Newbridge (some gifted, some bought)

Huge congratulations and thank you to the new Mr & Mrs Smyth for a wonderful day....I had to laugh at the best man advising them to book all hotels online by card in advance as apparently you get a few looks if you turn up paying cash and checking in as Mr & Mrs Smyth :)

Dressing the Kids for a Wedding | M&S

This month, my kids got to treat themselves at M&S using a gifted voucher with the remit being something a little bit smarter. I don't know what your kids are like but as soon as there's a family meal out, a birthday or wedding in this house, mine have nothing nice to wear. The girls and I were also going to Lucy's wedding so I was trying to get them sorted in a not too expensive way. Managed to tick all the boxes on this one.

5 July Must Haves | Beauty

I wanted to share with you 5 beauty products I've been reaching for each day recently and absolutely loving. Some I bought, some I was gifted...but the key measure for me featuring anything on here is my willingness to repurchase...which I will for all of these (if I can and when they run out..obvs)
