So the day started off with a pile of presents & cards on the bed. There was a definite shoe theme to the cards and I loved this one my godmother chose for me. She knows me so well:
I was very fortunate to receive a number of birthday cheques and some cash so a little visit back to the Outlets was arranged but not before we headed to the Fat Gherkin in Moira for their signature soda stack..no better way to
start my 40th year (start the year...I'm NOT 40 yet!!). Olwyn & Michael had a gorgeous selection of Jubilee cupcakes so despite having just eaten a soda stack, I chose one as my birthday cake..
Look at that cheeky face angling in for some cake!
One of the (kind of) good things about having 3 kids is that you don't get to eat much of your birthday cupcake. I think I got about 1/6th of it in the end but that little piece was SO good - and 1/6th of the calories! Then it was off to the Outlets for some retail therapy and a chance to share with you my outfit of the day. My top was sent to me by my sister. She's so good at knowing what I'll like & what suits me. I love this mint coloured, scarf print chiffon top from Wallis. And check out the beautiful beads my friend Claire got me - they're grey with a statement white heart bead. Stunning and matched my sister's top perfectly!
Wearing with a white basics vest from Primark which my sister also sent me, white skinny trousers from H&M and my TK Maxx sandals (last seen here). Oh and beautifully accessorised with an LK Bennett shopping bag. I went back to see the girls in the LK Bennett Outlet as they had been so lovely to me when I was in earlier this week. I'll show you what I bought & share with you my visit to the Belfast Boat Races in the second part of my birthday post later today...Sunday lunch calls!
LOVE the top - must have a peek online at Wallis, also the cakes love DEVINE!
