What I've Been Wearing 12 | Style

Another big catch up post on the outfit front. Now the kids are back to school, I'll hopefully get back to my two-weekly posts. The summer was a bit of a blur and I'll be honest, stylish dressing wasn't a priority - practicality largely drove  my outfits, especially while up on the North Coast on our holiday. So here's my mixed up collection of outfits starting with the day we went school shoe shopping in Donaghy's in Banbridge. I'm so glad I went and did this early as one of my friends had to drive for over 60 miles yesterday getting shoes for her kids as stock had sold out...plus the kids are just back from the first day at school reporting that there are no sore feet or blisters 🙌🏼

Denim Jacket - preloved Abercrombie & Fitch
Culottes - Zara (SS19)
Sandals - M&S (SS18)
Leopard Cross Body - preloved by Abro

Next up, and this dress has had lots of wear this summer. It's perfect on hotter days with the slits up the front and side. I'm wearing GEOX trainers I picked up in Donaghy's while getting the school shoes - kids size 6, light as a feather, leather lined and with leopard trim...result!
Dress - Zara (SS17)
Trainers - Donaghys (kids Geox!)
Bag - as before

Another hot day outfit next where I'm combining a short button down tea-dress over shorts and a vest for a different look. Perfect if you don't want to feel bare on the legs as I often do with shorts on.
Dress - Soaked in Luxury (SS19)
Shorts - ancient Primark
Bag - preloved from a handbag swap party

Next up, a new dress I got in Sarah Alexandra Boutique in Newtownards. ADORE the print on this one and I'm looking forward to bringing it into Autumn with me..

Trying more muted tones with this outfit. Since I lightened my hair, I'm finding that subtle colours look better and I've been enjoying trying different combinations. On reflection, I don't think this works great - there's something about a darker top under a light jacket that I don't like though it ties in nicely with the colours on the trainers.
Top - M&S SS19
Trainers - Donaghy's Banbridge (kids GEOX!)
Bag - Dunnes Stores sale

This next skirt is an old one from M&S but this actual one I'm wearing is a new one for me. I loved it so much that I bought a second one from eBay! In the next size up as in fact the first one I bought has always been a bit neat on my waist and a summer of over indulgence hasn't helped that situation!
Jacket - as before
Skirt - M&S (SS17)

One of the lovely trips we got to take over the summer break was to Hillsborough Castle & Gardens, which has only recently opened to the public. We had a gorgeous day wandering around the walled garden and having a tour of the house. We also enjoyed lunch in the restaurant which incidentally, can be visited without paying entry to the gardens or castle.
Dress - preloved from & Other Stories
Denim Jacket - H&M (SS17)
Trainers - old Seven Boot Lane (similar here)
Orange Crossbody - Accessorise Sale (SS19)

Carrying on with the bright cross body bag - this red one was in M&S a few years back and I always regretted not buying it. Then I saw another blogger selling one on a preloved site on Facebook and within days it was mine! I've had it a few years now and although I don't wear it much, it always gives me joy when I do (easily pleased!)
Jeans - Tifossi One Size Fits All from Alana Interiors
Denim Jacket - as before
Black Top - Naya (Alana Interiors sale)

First one from the North Coast and I wore this rather autumnal outfit on a rainy trip to Derry on the train..
Coat - Ilse Jacobsen (sample sale from a few years ago)
Sweatshirt - By Garcia (sale purchase on holidays)
Jeans - Rant & Rave (sold out where I bought them but available on the link)
Bag - old Boden

And another casual one from the coast - I LIVED in this hoodie that I bought in Berlin Boutique before I left. Big and cosy and with a black and blue leopard trim. What's not to love?!
Leggings - Nike

Final beach picture featuring an older purchase from Berlin, a mixed material top from Naya that is on sale now. Naya is fast becoming a favourite brand with its quirky asymmetric details and mixed fabrics. Also in this photo, I'm wearing the trainers that were game changers for me on this holiday. I picked them up for £33 in the Fitflop sale before we went away and they were like gloves to wear and so so comfortable. More so than the Skechers actually - which I wasn't expecting.
Jeans - Rant & Rave as before
Bag - Dunnes as before

Next, a more recent one from an event I went to in M&S Sprucefield - a fundraising fashion & beauty evening with Action Cancer. Such a great evening and I got to catch up over a coffee with my blogging buddy Danielle Donohue, which was much needed. The dress is from Penneys/Primark and I bought it a while back but only got around to wearing it last week for the first time. I don't shop in Primark anymore - not since the whole fast fashion thing kicked off. But every now and again, the twins drag me in and I see something. I've since seen it on about 5 bloggers though I'm put off it a bit....and it clings to your legs something shocking - yet more reasons to stay out of Primark!! But I've bought it now and will give it plenty of wear - the colours are great with my colouring.
Dress - Primark (current)
Bag - old Boden

Two final flowery pictures from the weekend when I headed to Tipperary for my Dad's 80th birthday. I don't show my family on here or talk about them much but my dad is a legend. He's had debilitating health issues for more than 20 years and has battled on without complaint all of this time. He never thought he would make it to 80 but he has and we had the loveliest family party to celebrate. Here's what I wore en-route. The skirt is actually a dress - with a very strappy and bare top which I realised worked much better with a t-shirt over. Far more wearable in an Irish summer and if it gets too hot, you can always pop the t-shirt off...result!
Dress (worn as a skirt) - M&S (SS19 sale)
Bag - preloved as before

And a dress you've seen already - loved getting another wear out of this Sarah Alexandra dress I showed already..
Dress, Sandals & Bag - as before

And that's us up to date again - hope you enjoyed and I'll be back with some Autumn/Winter inspiration next. My favourite season is about to start!
