The white trainer trend is going nowhere and they've become the go-to footwear choice for so many of us because they're so easy to wear and work equally well with jeans and dresses.
But what if you could combine an on-trend white trainer with the ultimate in comfort, elevating your trainers to something approaching a running/exercise trainer. And in my case, something that is going to be ABSOLUTELY perfect for our upcoming trip to London.
Meet what I think is the perfect mix of trend and comfort - the Carita Trainer from Fitflop.

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of Fitflop sandals. Their comfort is unquestionable but I've tried several of the styles and I don't like any of them. It's frustrating so when I was asked to look at the new Fitflop trainer range, I wasn't feeling hopeful about seeing something I'd like but I ended up struggling to chose between 3 pairs.
I decided to be brave and try a chunkier style trainer - inspired by one of my blogging friends, Leigh, who wears hers so well. Hers aren't fitflop but they look similar so I looked to her when I was thinking about how to wear these new ones.
When they arrived, I put them straight on and there's absolutely nothing that compares for comfort. They are like walking on air! But would they pass the style test? I think they do. For this blog post, I wore them with two quite different outfits.

Denim Jacket - Abercrombie & Fitch (preloved)
Handbag - Zohara (gifted)
Skirt - M&S (sale bargain 2017)
White T-Shirt - M&S Basic
They're going to be my number 1 choice for London in July and I can't see me needing to bring a second pair for that trip because of how well they work with both the skirt above and jeans in this next outfit:

Blush Blazer - All Saints (SS17)

The detail at the heel is lovely too....worthy of a picture of its own
Size-wise, I ordered the 6. I can sometimes be a 5.5 in a trainer so I measured my foot before I ordered. I fell slightly outside the given measurement for a 6 on the website but I still ordered the 6 and they are perfect. I'm asked all the time about what socks I wear in trainers - they're converse chuck towelling socks from TK Maxx - completely invisible inside trainers but never move on the foot and are lovely and cushioned for comfort. I own about 15 pairs of them and always buy a 3 pack when I see them in-store.
Thanks to Fitflop for gifting these trainers to me. I wasn't paid to feature them and wasn't asked to write a blog post. I mainly wanted to share these great shots my photographer friend Gillian Robb took for me. The difference working with a professional makes! Gillian does family photos and headshots as well as business photography and you can see her work over on her website here. She's a joy to work with and I wish she lived closer to me so I could nab her for all my pictures. I paid her for these photos...and we were so lucky to get a sunny day AND have the sailors competing in the water behind us!
Here are the other contenders for this blog post. You can check out all of the Fitflop trainer range on this link:
Finally, I saw these next ones on a lady the other day and they looked AMAZING on her - a great alternative colour to white for summer:
