Or more specifically, what I didn't! I'm really ruthless when packing for weekend breaks and staycations but it would appear that 10 years away from sun holidays saw me completely out of touch with what to bring and as a consequence, I brought too much. Which I know most people do but I hate bringing too much and it really annoyed me I didn't wear everything.
So what did I actually wear? Shorts and a cami top...pretty much every day!
Cami - Primark (current stock)
Shorts - Selected Femme via preloved
Incidentally, the Sketcher flip-flops are incredible - I can highly recommend them. I bought them last summer and have worn them walking miles. They're so bouncy and comfortable and support your foot much more than a normal flip-flop.
Top - H&M
Shorts - Primark (current season)
Cami - Mango (similar here & here)
Top - M&S
Shorts - Mango
Cami - Mango (as above - different colour)
Yep, 3 pairs of shorts and 4 cami tops....that was basically all I needed to bring along with my palmairas and my black flip-flops but oh no, I had to bring white trainers, gold sandals AND black leather sandals and a few more jersey tops which were just too warm for wearing there.
I only needed one bikini but I packed 4 bikinis and a few spare bikini tops that a friend loaned me!
I brought 7 dresses & wore 3, though I could have managed with just the one really.
Here's my Guess dress - worn the night we went out to celebrate my husband's birthday:
I also wore this this brilliant jersey dress from Onjenu a couple of evenings. I've had this now for 3 years now and it just keeps on giving. Brilliant for packing as it doesn't crease at all.
Dress - Onjenu - past season but similar on this link
I also brought my M&S dress from this post and wore it both as a dress and a skirt (with the top rolled down):
Black Vest Top - as before
The rest of the dresses weren't needed at all.
And here's what I wore over on the plane. Perfect travel outfit by the way - because I then had leggings for my morning runs and a hoody for when it was colder (not pictured)
Sport Vest - Next
To sum it up, here's my succinct packing advice for 10 days in the sun (and my reference point for the next holiday)
3 x shorts
3 x Cami tops
1 x dress
1 x flip flops
1 x leather sandals
1 x swimsuit
1 x bikini
1 x scarf (can be used as a sarong)
and wear running gear with a hoodie on the plane.
I've linked everything that's current, if there's no link, it's past season.
Back soon with some more Irish weather appropriate posts...
Ax
Glad you had a great holiday Avril. This is so useful as we're going to Majorca in July. It'll be 10 years since we last got away to the sun too Juanita x
