Well I've found the perfect one at TM Lewin and it has the added bonus of having a gorgeous stripe in the material..it looks so much more expensive than it actually is.
Fitted White Stripe Shirt - TM LewinI bought lots from TM Lewin when I worked - I found their shirts to be such a good fit and they washed and ironed well. They also do amazing multi-buy deals that makes the shirts cost as little as £20 each. Since I finished work, I've mostly bought casual shirts for my hubby from their site and never really thought about the women's shirts for casual wear. I'd assumed they were all double cuffed for one thing.
Well, they're not - and in fact, you can filter your search for button cuffed ones - which I did and found this fitted stripe shirt which I've styled today with jeans, a white vest and my go-to sandals of the summer (bad back aside), the Next silver ones.
Shirt - c / o ™ Lewin (size-wise, I wanted it loose fitting so I sized up to a 14)
Jeans - Maison Scotch (similar here & here)
Vest - M&S (similar)
Silver Crossover Leather Sandals - Next (similar)
Watch - Michael Kors (similar)
Bracelets - Michael Kors, Jack Wills & Energetix
So you can see it works well untucked for a casual look but I also wore it tucked in, for a neater look
And it's obviously going to look great with a jumper over, or even for a night out too.

That looks lovely on you Avril, I think I like it best tucked in. Must check these out as am always on the hunt for the perfect white shirt. Good to know their men's shirts are good too as husband always complaining about the quality of his.

Never thought about looking at TM Lewin for shirts, but after seeing yours and Fiona's blog posts I'm definitely going to have a browse! I recently bought a classic blue stripe one from Jack Wills (featured on my blog http://arthursmum.com/2014/07/crew-clothing-jack-wills-sale-shopping/) and I love the tucked in look. x

You've styled it beautifully, but despite your (and Olivia!!) best attempts, I still can't get my head around the idea of a white shirt for casual wear. I still have it firmly in the workwear camp :( Looks like a beautiful quality shirt

ReplyDeleteI agree about the TM Lewin shirts - I used to buy lots of them when I was a City lawyer, as did many of my colleagues. My husband wears them, too.
