Gunwharf Outlets & The Sales

Those of you who follow me on social media will know I'm away for a few days in England and yesterday, we were passing Portsmouth and it would have been rude to not drop into the Gunwharf outlets while we were so close. I've been once before so knew it was a good location for the kids too - right at the sea, with plenty to see and do, other than shopping.

My back hasn't been so good since we've been away so that severely curtailed my shopping (not a bad thing on balance...as I've been perusing the online sales while I've been resting up), so this is what I managed in the hour or so we spent there.

First up - always worth a look in the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet for some cotton basics and these stripy tops were down to £12.99. Gorgeous mid-weight cotton with a nice stretch. I find with RL, I need to size up as they tend to be a bit short fitting so this is a size L.

Next up, a cotton boho style top from Gap - also down to £12.99. I'm always drawn to this mauve/pink colour - I think it will look lovely with denim shorts on a hotter day. Colour a bit deeper in real life and I got a size M.

My third purchase was this denim shirt from The White Company - down to £30 from £85. I have one from Sainsburys that I wear loads but I was looking for a shorter length one with popper buttons and this one is so beautifully made and a lovely colour and quality of denim. Wearing it today...

Denim Shirt - The White Company Outlet
White Jeans - Tesco
White Vest - Zara (current)
Blue Cross Body - Boden (gorgeous similar DKNY one here for £48!)
Trainers - Onitsuka Tigers (available on eBay)

Apart from that I got a pair of granny sandals as recommended by my physio - worthy of a blog post of their own...or maybe not - will mull over that!
Other notable shops were All Saints, LK Bennett and Ted Baker but the only trouble with these outlets is that it makes me very reluctant to buy anything full price in any of these shops - it feels like you're subsidising the huge reductions.

But at the moment, it's all about the high street sales....and I can confirm I've not been ignoring them on my holidays!
Last week, I bought this top in Warehouse for £15 (other colour way on link). It's got a grey jersey back with this lovely silky pattern on the front. Looks great with white and denim and I've also worn it tucked into my grey maxi skirt. I bought a size 14 as I wanted it a little looser - these jersey tops can cling a bit.

Coast does a great sale with decent reductions so when I saw this top reduced from £65 to £19, I snapped it up as I'd admired it several times in the past. Now it's arrived, I can't make up my mind whether I need the 12 instead of 10 and also the sequins are the ones that are quite scratchy. But I do love it...and it's sold out online now. Mulling over. Keep an eye on this link for any returns.

I also ordered these Celita Spike shoes (£25) after seeing them on Eve. A nod to the Valentino rock studs but they've not arrived yet. I'll report back when they do....don't tell the physio!!

And that's it .... so far!
...........
Ok - it's not....I have a Boden box to share too. Will blog about it to coincide with their sale starting tomorrow. Credit cards at the ready....I'll be back soon!

  1. Love those shoes! Thanks for sharing. It'd great to find out about brands from the UK we may not know of abroad. Lots of times the shipping from the UK isn't bad, too...

  4. Those shoes are so tempting Avril but sadly I bought the Russell and Bromley Rockstud homage from ebay a while ago and they are probably too similar for me to justify. Hope your back gets better soon x

  6. Portsmouth! SO close, I'm just up the M3 in Basingstoke. You might have seen it on the road signs! Did you get to do anything else down there or just a trolley dash?
