Last week I finally got my MRI appointment - at 8am on the other side of Belfast. Instead of thinking about the 7am start that would require, I instead focussed on the opportunity. I knew I'd be finished at about 8.30am so rather than cut across town in the rush hour, I decided to park up at Castlecourt and have a quick look in the shops while returning my Zara order.
It was short and sweet as I'm not up to walking far but I managed to find some nice pieces in New Look, Next, M&S and Zara....fur and pastel coats seem to be the order of the day, starting with New Look:
Black Fur Coat (£44.99) & Pink Wool Mix Biker Style Coat (£49.99)
And these oversized tartan scarves are gorgeous:
Pink Tartan & Orange Tartan
Kimonos are still featuring - loved the colours in this one:
Went up to Shoe Heaven but there were too many heels for my liking ...
I then went over to Next where there were some more great coats. The one on the left is a gorgeous pink colour and the one on the right is a mix of charcoal grey & navy. Stunning.
Pink Waterfall Coat (£65 - more pink coloured in real life) & Navy/Grey Zip Coat (£55)
I'm forever drawn to coral colours so this jumper really appealed. It's got gold flecks through it so is perfect for my colouring. I also spotted this faux leather jacket which is really similar to the one I got in H&M last year I'm always asked about.
Coral Boxy Jumper (£22) & Quilted PU Jacket (£55)
Onward to M&S for a fur & pastel coat update...the blue coat was in the sale though in limited sizes. I can't find either of these online.
The pale yellow coat was also in the sale (but I'm all over yellow coats now)...and then there was these boots (only available online in light grey). Just as nice in real life as they look online and they come in burgundy also. Very tempted. How many pairs of ankle boots are too many?
Finally it was into Zara where I had high hopes for their fur coats. But it wasn't to be....behold Mrs yeti woman:
I tried them all, long, short, leopard and plain. All awful. My fur coat dreams are in tatters....I can't even bear to link to them all. But they're all on the Zara website if you think they'll work for you.
I did however LOVE this camel wool coat and this chain detail quilted bag (only in brown online), which I've seen a few bloggers wearing. It's lovely quality and real leather.
And the tartan oversized scarves featured in Zara also - similar colours too
What was my MRI style? Hush harem pants, H&M grey t-shirt (old), River Island skater shoes and H&M quilted faux leather biker jacket (past season). Comfort all the way!
Hope you've had a good Bank Holiday weekend, here's to the last week of the school holidays...
Ax
It was a wet Bank Holiday here but I visited John Lewis in Liverpool and was most impressed with Warehouse.
ReplyDeleteLove the pale blue dress coat from M&S. How come I haven't clocked this before? Some lovely picks Avril, I was browsing the Next Autumn supplement earlier and noticed they have different colour ways in the oversized scarves. One will be purchased here (in September) x
ReplyDeleteThe picture of you in the Zara camel coat, so gorgeous, you have to get this one!
ReplyDeleteAbbi x
Love all those tartan scarves...gorgeous! I have tried and failed with fur coats...I seem to look very gorilla like in them! Still searching though, I think shorter ones are better on me?! Hope the MRI comes back with positive results and your back is feeling a lot better very soon xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving the tartan scarves! Def getting one (or two!).
ReplyDeletelove the pink coat in New Look. I get 25% off in there (family member is an employee at NL!) so it's always a tempting place to shop :)
ReplyDeleteI have a similar camel wool coat from Zara I will keep forever! It was a good "investment"....
ReplyDeleteLove the short cream fur coat on you......that is gorgeous! How lovely is that Zara chain handle bag too! Just compiling my A/W wishlist and it's getting longer and longer! xx
ReplyDeleteLoved the bag from Zara & tartan scarves from New Look ...... I think New Look are really good for high street buys :)
ReplyDeleteI did a little shopping when I was away but it was a necessity as it was freezing! Apart from that, I've not been drawn into yet... We shall see! Hope your back continues to improve, Avril. Lynne x
ReplyDeleteI love your 'little shop' - looked more like an epic big one to me!
ReplyDeleteWhat's in the M&S bag then?
I need a tartan wool scarf for the winter ahead
Haha - I promise I wasn't shopping in M&S, it was my Zara order in its big box! x
ReplyDeleteHope the MRI sheds some light!
ReplyDeleteWe trawled round town this morning but hardly any clothes shops as had both the kiddiewinks with us. I did see a nice looking grey coat in Primark of all places with large pink & white checks but I didn't approach it to touch/gauge price.
Our local M&S still seemed to be full of summer stuff on sale. We're going to Newbury on Friday so might have another browse as I have £40 of vouchers to spend!
I don't think you're giving those Zara furs a fair chance! They are winter coats, so you would probably have a higher necked jumper underneath (something around your neck), the trousers you were wearing probably don't go with fur, a skinnier bottom half look better with the more bulky fur top. Also boots are a better fit with coats like this. What I'm trying to say is that none of them look "awful" - I think you've got the wrong clothes on with them! X
ReplyDeleteLove that Next zip coat but can't find it online anywhere - aargh! Might have to take your blog post in store and show them on my iPad!
ReplyDeleteHi sweetie,
ReplyDeleteyou look stunning with these coat
Wonderful selection
