We took a trip back out to Mount Stewart over the weekend to check out their arts & antiques fair. It was an ok day - not as warm as forecast, but dry. Mount Stewart has its own micro-climate anyway - generally warmer. Evidenced in the fact that their spring blooms always come out a few weeks before ours.
Gemma took my photos today - it's normally her sister who does them but this time, she was really keen to take the photos under this magnolia tree...
Her verdict - a bit dark so we went for a brighter spot over beside the pink rhododendrons...
Boden Short Trench - (AW10 only available on eBay now) Green Jeans - Room 31 Taupe Suede Ankle Boot - Mango (AW12 - similar here & here) White Short Sleeved T-Shirt - Superdry (SS13) Denim Shirt - Sainsburys (SS13 - similar here) Necklace - New Look (AW11) Sunglasses (in brown) - Room 31 |
This Boden short mac has been in my wardrobe for a couple of years and I still love it. If I'm honest, I find long macs/trench coats can look a bit formal for a day out with the kids so this short one works better. Additionally, it's lined and made from a heavier cotton which makes it perfect for in-between weather.
Wearing my Room 31 green jeans again. I've had a denim overload recently so really wanted a bit of colour on my legs. I fancied wearing them with camel as my necklace has both colours in it and I thought it would therefore work well.
The necklace is an oldie from New Look (worn here in my blog swap with One Chic Mom - Iva) but I was amused to see that the same necklace is stocked this year in a couple of different colour-ways in Dorothy Perkins AND even more amusing, Next have a pair of sandals made from it. Perhaps a bit too matchy, matchy?

And in return for taking such gorgeous photos of me, Gemma asked that I take one of her beside the pink flowers.

DeleteLovely pictures Avril, especially the ones by the pink flowers! I have a short Trench from Zara I've had for a few years and it certainly fills a gap when you feel a longer one a bit formal, I think everyone should have a shortie too!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the shortie too Sharron - a great casual jacket option x
DeleteI've just managed to catch up on all your posts. Whoa!! You brave woman. I had no idea Boden was going to deliver over 600 pieces of clothing. I wouldn't have coped. I love that breton top on you. I'm so tempted to get the code from you but I shouldn't. I've already placed 3 orders in the last month!
ReplyDeleteA couple days ago, I saw a woman in town in a pair of colored denim similar to yours. The green was so striking that it really contrasted beautifully with her b & w striped top. Fabulous outfit, Avril!
Haha - 600 items....I almost fainted when it all came in. I was most worried about getting it all back out the door again the next day! But we got there...thank goodness.
DeleteThanks for the tip off about the striped top with the green jeans. I must try that with my new Boden breton! x
