Christmas Jumpers from M&S | Model & Me | AD

For my monthly collaboration with M&S, I was tasked with trying on all of the Christmas jumpers...because we all need a great Christmas Jumper at this time of the year and the great thing about them is that you can wear them year after year - you only really need to buy well once and you've got it forever.
I thought I'd do it model & me style...show you it online and then as worn by me....I think this helps when you're buying online. It's interesting how different things look sometimes.

The selection is great this year - with a mix of close fitting ones, perfect for wearing with midi skirts or culottes/trousers for work and gorgeous chunky oversized ones too - perfect for throwing on with skinnies or leggings. The only challenge is to whittle it down to just one....oh and check your Sparks card because I had £5 off women's jumpers the day I was in. I think this week, it's changed to 20% off. Starting with this red beauty, which has sparkly daschunds all over it.
and on me:
Now the reviews online were quite misleading I felt. It's not tight in the arms - it's neat fitting, which is a flattering thing, especially if you're slimmer on the top, as I am. But they're not restrictive or overly tight in my view. The body equally isn't loose - it's actually quite neat too but not clingy. And the length is good. I'm wearing the S here and it fits like an 8-10. The good news on this one is that it comes in an XS size too so it's perfect for teenagers or tweens.

Next up, a twist on a classic breton knit with just the subtlest nod to Christmas in the shape of an embroidered holly sprig.
and on me:
It's beautifully finished with a red trim on the cuffs and the waistband. Now this one IS small - the S fitted more like an 8 on me and it's shorter in the body. Love the split hem detail.

The third of the neater fit knits is this reindeer one which was probably my favourite of the 3.
It's called 'grey' online but it's more like a cool oatmeal colour...very flattering to wear. It's got reindeers all over with pom pom noses - very cute. I'm wearing the S again and it feels like a 10 - a little looser than the red one but not massively so.

Moving onto the chunky knits and what I loved about these is that they're all quite cool - subtle colours and not 'in your face' Christmas. Definitely more stylish than many you'll find out there. This first one says 'Starry Night' and it's got a real apres-ski feel about it:
I'm wearing the S and it fits like I'd expect it to, given it's a more oversized fit.

This 'Celebrate' one is perfect for both daytime and a night out with it's sparkly details and winter white colour. I'd team this with a metallic black or gold skirt for an stylish festive look. Again, I'm in the S and it fits like the Starry Night one.

The 'Let it Snow' pom pom knit though is my favourite of the looser fit knits - I tried this in the M for the photos but the size L actually came home with me. I'll wear it with my coated leggings and biker boots (see below for the outfit pic!)
There's a good range in the kids section too...and in fact, there's a mini me version of the Let it Snow one that I bought.
But I'm not a fan of mini me dressing...and the twins are at an age now where they'd be unimpressed with it too. Ah they grow up so fast! There are other great options too - I particularly liked these more subtle knits that can be worn all winter long, not just for Christmas. A better buy for kids as they will get more wear out of them. They come up big so size down.
I was impressed with the kids Christmas PJ's too - top tip for anyone buying for older kids, you can't go wrong with pyjamas as a gift. My kids love getting them and even if they're Christmas themed, they still wear them all year round. These Star ones are the best buy I think - and they come in all sizes so if you've kids of different ages, they can wear the same
If you've boys, these are the co-ordinating ones in blue...
But as I walked out, I spied these ladies pyjamas and they had to come home with me. On first glance, they look flowery...gorgeous but just flowery. But move closer and you'll see the Leopards!!
Absolutely had to have them and they are stunning on - they look way more expensive and even though they are described as satin, they're a much nicer silky feeling. The perfect present for that hard to buy for woman in your life. I bought the 8-10 and they are a great fit (I'm a 10). I felt dead posh when I wore them for the first time last night - feeling the need for the matching dressing gown and slippers!

Leaving you with a look at my festive jumper choice..ok, it's all black but I LOVE it. And I've sparkles on my new hat! Unfortunately it was a case of let it rain when the photo was being taken...

Affiliate links are used throughout this post so that M&S can track its performance and I'm paid a small commission if you buy and keep anything I feature here. This doesn't change the price of items for you (and you can still use your Sparks discounts/vouchers etc.), but the small income I make from these links helps to keep this blog going by covering hosting and URL costs. I honestly couldn't keep blogging without it so thank you if you've ever clicked on one of my links. But please also don't feel you have to - go straight to the M&S website if you prefer. Just don't go through google or they will get the commission and I'd really rather M&S had it than gave it to them!

  1. Love the jumper you chose and it looks great with your leather trousers and boots. Think I want the leopard PJs even more though! x
