I know it's summer but when it comes to this part of the world you still need a raincoat. A good one. Especially this week! And this summer, I have been gifted this gorgeous blue one from Lighthouse Clothing - the lifestyle brand of local performance clothing brand, Target Dry.
It seems every blogger worth her salt must have a yellow raincoat this season and I did hover over the stunning yellow coats that Lighthouse have but I decided to go against the grain and chose a blue one, And I'm so glad I did as this shade of blue is perfect - a warm cornflower hue:
Lighthouse Rayna Waterproof Parka Coat - currently on sale

For this post, I found a perfectly co-ordinated wall to lean against. Love it when a plan comes together.

I've honestly worn it loads. More than I've shown on my social channels. Mostly my raincoat wearing moments aren't very instagram friendly. On the school run, quick trips to the shops for milk, picking up kids from friends' houses or a sitting for hours watching the kids at athletics. But I've worn the coat for all of these and can confirm it is great for keeping dry. It's also just that bit more stylish than your standard raincoat - I always get compliments and questions about it.
The timing of this blog post is great as there is a sale running on both the Target Dry and Lighthouse websites at the moment so you can pick up a bargain or two while supporting a local brand. Here are a couple of my picks, starting with this shorter jacket in a stunning watermelon colour:
The Lighthouse Beachcomber Waterproof Coat
But if bright colours are not your thing, this green option is available in limited sizes in the sale:

Finishing with one that's not in the sale but the colour is another lovely neutral one:
There's also lots of great kids' coats and fleeces in the sale - perfect for now and when the weather gets cooler. I can thoroughly recommend the Charlotte Girl's Lightweight coat which my twins have worn now for more than 2 years to school, on wet hockey evenings and even in the snow (over layers). Limited stock left now but at a well reduced price! They won't hang around.

Disclaimer - I was gifted this coat for the purposes of this review but I was not paid to write the blog post, nor was I required to. The words are all my own :) Thank you for supporting the local brands that support this blog x
