I've so many blog posts to write but my back is giving me grief again and I'm limited in how long I can sit at my computer. So this is just a quick fly through outfits from the past week/10 days, starting with one from the launch of the BPerfect Cosmetics counter at Medicare Chemist at Forestside Shopping Centre. As well as being my favourite tan and favourite local chemist, I knew some of my blogging friends would be there too. It was a lovely wee evening, made even better by the fact that my twins were welcomed along...they took this stunning photo beside 'Store Room A15' - instagram gold :)
Jacket - ASOS (old)
Jeans - River Island (SS16)
Trainers - Adidas Stan Smiths
Black Cross Body Bag - Prada (40th birthday present)
Onto the slap (in the title) as last week, I had my makeup done at the Inglot counter in Castlecourt. I had been to their press day a few weeks back and mentioned to the manager how I felt Inglot is a bit intimidating for older women as the makeup is WAY more full on than most busy mums can be bothered with (or want). So the remit was for a daytime look...
...and here was the finished face:
It did still involve more products and brushes than I'd ever have the patience (or time) to use every day but I was delighted with the end result and got lots of tips about filling my Freedom palette. I also took a sample of their AMC foundation with me which I'm REALLY impressed by and will be purchasing. So even if you're not sure about getting a full face of make up on, I'd recommend getting colour matched for their foundation. The AMC and the HD are both excellent. Always ask for a sample to try at home - it's the only way to know with foundation.
The other Inglot product I need to rave about is this SPF 20 base that I've been wearing under my makeup now for a few weeks. It's really excellent - gives a gorgeous base. Another new favourite.
Back to outfits and this was one from last week when summer departed and we were back in winter woolies and boots! These are all old favourites..
Scarf - H&M (might still be in-store)
Poncho - Woolovers (past season)
Boots - Seven Boot Lane (old)
Shirt (just seen) - Marmalade Boutique
Can't remember which day this next picture is from but it was clearly a warmer one. I really just want to show you these off the shoulder tops from H&M which I always get asked - about after they go out of stock! I got a few last year and this year's version isn't just as good a quality but the neckline is great and doesn't budge when you're wearing. I bought the black and white in a S and a M and needed every bit of the medium.
Trainers - Adidas Stan Smiths
And finishing with an in-between weather day outfit, featuring my Zohara Barker bag from this blog post. My offer with Bella Mia Boutique where you can claim a free Coast & Co fragrance gift with every purchase of a Zohara handbag still stands - the online code is ALIFETOSTYLE and the website is on this link.
Jacket - Primark (current)
Jeans - F&F (old)
I also gave my Primark duster jacket an outing...haven't worn it much since I got it but it's perfect for this weather. It photographs more grey that it is - it's definitely a khaki green.
And check out my new sandals! I was looking for a pair to replace the H&M 'monk' sandals from last summer, which are on their last legs. I spotted these Warehouse ones on the ASOS website and snapped them up during the 20% off offer. They're brilliant - really supportive, comfortable and black. I know not everyone likes black sandals but I can't do summer without them. Pricy for Warehouse but they are a lovely leather and very well made.
That's all for now...I'll be back as soon as I can. I hope you had a fab weekend
Avril xx
I've been watching your mystory and so sorry about how you seem to have slipped backwards. I hope you get help that works soon. I have those h&m tops and think they have such a flattering neckline, and so cheap. I'm mutton_style on IG btw. We've chatted a bit :)
